The Wilderness Preserve Wild Basin was established in 1970 to protect 227 acres of Texas Hill Country. Located on Settlement Drive, MeadowLake Park is one of the parks that has the largest freshwater lake in Texas and the second largest in North America. This 744.4 hectare park, which was purchased in the 1970s from private donations and opened to the public in 1976, bears the name of its namesake, Meadow Lakes Falls Park.

Facilities include a picnic area, picnic tables, a water park and a playground for children and adults. Ten MUDs in Round Rock, which is bordered by Settlement Drive, Meadow Lake Drive and Meadow Lakes Drive in the heart of the city.

The health care facility in Round Rock opened in December 2009, and the next Texas State University campus is a Stage II trauma center. The Texas Health Science Center at the University of Texas Medical Center in Dallas is the second Stage II medical center in Texas to open in fall 2010.

Austin Music Hall is located on the western edge of downtown in the Warehouse District and is home to the Austin Symphony Orchestra and Texas Performing Arts Center. Built in 1977, the Frank Erwin Center is considered one of the largest theatres in Texas with 16,000 seats. Completed in 1981, this showcase performing arts theater in Texas is the largest in Austin and seats about 3,000.
